Setting the Church in Order
Setting the Church in Order: Instruction from the New Testament Letter to Titus
“For the reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains….”
Titus 1:5 (NASB)
Titus 1:5 (NASB)
According to the Bible, the Church is not a mere human organization but a living organism animated with the very life of God in Christ. After all, it is the “body of Christ” of which Jesus Himself is our “living Head.” This means that for the Church to be faithful on earth, we must be faithful to what the “Head” requires.
It is with this spirit that the Apostle Paul wrote to Titus on the Mediterranean island of Crete. Paul commanded Titus to “set in order” the structure, teaching and activity of this ancient and nascent church.
Join us this summer as we explore what the church is, how it is to be structured and what it is called to do. If you have missed any sermons in this series, you can download the audio from our Sermons Page.
Special thanks to Mary Peters for the sermon series artwork!
