Father-Son Campout 2012
The 2012 Father-Son Camp-Out was Friday, June 15th to Saturday, June 16th on Gilman Island on the Connecticut River. Sixty-five men and boys canoed to the island to camp for the night. The boys enjoyed paddling canoes around the island and playing in the river. Everyone enjoyed dinner cooked over the campfire, singing, and messages by Pete Twarog and Don Willeman.
After the message, marshmallows were roasted over the campfire and enjoyed by many. Many men stayed up late around the campfire. Everyone enjoyed a night sleeping in the fresh air, some in a tent, others in hammocks or on the ground by the fire.
After an early morning breakfast, some enjoyed swimming in the river, others went fishing and then all paddled back up river to return home.
