2015 Men’s Retreat Photos

Men from Christ Redeemer Church in Hanover and Sunapee, as well as from several other local churches, gathered together for a retreat at Singing Hills from 1/23-1/24. The retreat focused on the theme “Godly Ambition: Retooling our Drive for Success.” The men enjoyed talks from Lindsay Whaley, Doug Cooper, and Markes Wilson as well as time for discussion, fun, and fellowship. You can find reflections on the retreat below, along with links for the recordings of these talks at the bottom of the page.
“Reflecting on ‘make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to work with your hand, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that there will not be any need’ (1 Th 4:11-12, my paraphrase) was very rich. Especially the notion of a ‘quiet life’ that earns respect. We life our lives in the context of other people–in a social framework where we depend on others, and in turn depend on them. Mutual respect is a critical part of a ‘quiet life.’
~Doug Tengdin
“The winter men’s retreat was a refreshing experience to share time in the scriptures with other men, husbands and fathers with the time to discuss and reflect how this plays out in our daily lives.  It is amazing how God will work through others’ experiences and perspective to grow and stretch you closer to him.”
